Peace, peace to you, your homes, and loved ones, Thank you for dropping by! I pray you'll stick around for awhile and check out all the goodies on our web site. With all the rain we've been having in Texoma, I'm about to give up building my back deck and use the lumber to build an ark instead! The weather tends to dampen my spirits but not my creative urges. For the rest of the year, Drama Drash will be involved in organizing a winter festival for the children of our faith community. Prayerfully, this will be an opportunity not only for our children to enjoy games and fellowship, but also a time to educate them about the exciting biblical aspects of December. At this time of year, John (John 10:22) tells us that Jesus journeyed to Jerusalem to observe the Feast of Dedication. Today, we know this festival as Hanukkah. Why would Christians be interested in what is largely considered a Jewish holiday? Well, first because Jesus Himself recognized the feast as being important enough to walk to Jerusalem to celebrate. Secondly, Hanukkah is wrough with messianic overtures, from the symbols of the lights to the courageous and miraculous conquest of the Greeks and Asyrians at the sword of Judah Maccabee. Besides, Hanukkah is a fun holiday! If you would like more information about Hanukkah, check out the articles in The Green Room. I encourage you to explore this wonderful feast and maybe incorporate some of the traditions into your holiday observance. I was happy to hear from Wayne #1 this afternoon. He informs me that he is going through stage withdrawls. He's ready for another show. He also invited the Drama Drash family to his upcoming wedding on November 28th! May God bless Wayne #1 and Laura as they begin their new life together. After the first of the year, Drama Drash will begin working on performanceS--yes, plural, of Do This in Memory of Me. Pastor Terry at St. Paul's, impressed by last year's turnout, was hoping to host two performances at his church. We may add extra venues, God willing. In the meantime, we pray for opportunities to present a few sanctuary skits. If you would be interested in hosting a sketch at your church, contact Drama Drash @ This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call Shirley at 580.704.1983. Check out what's available on the Contact Page. As usual, Drama Drash is staying busy, trying to keep our ears open to the calling and direction of the Lord. It's so easy to head off on a tangent. Much harder to wait on that still, small voice. This is a time to rest, because when that voice is heard, we will definitely hit the ground running. Time is short and the Master is coming soon. Are you ready? Well, loved ones, stay dry and warm. May you all be blessed by the Father's grace and compassion. Thank you again for visiting and supporting the work of Drama Drash Ministries. Abundant Peace, Shirley |
