Rehearsals Are Going GREAT! Print E-mail

Peace to all your homes and families in the blessed name of our Messiah,

Rehearsals are moving along for the latest Drama Drash project, Ten Little Lost Tribes. Our time together is so much fun as characters are being developed and actors are giving life to the show. The show takes place this Sunday, November 30th, at 6 PM, at Abundant Life Church in Geronimo, OK. Take Hwy 277 and turn left on New Hope Road. Abundant Life is one mile up the street on Railroad.

Natalie joined the cast as Josephine Etsam, Lamed Emes foil, and she is truly maturing as an actress. Her first rehearsal was also a cold read, and she did fabulous--holding her own with actors who'd already been rehearsing for weeks. She adds her personal, unaffected charm to the Etsam character, making her fresh and lively.

Of course, we can't forget to mention Wayne #2 as Lamed Emes. This is Wayne's first substantial acting role and he's doing a fine job--again taking liberty to add his own personality to the character (AND his Sherlock Holmes cap will look SMASHING!)

Wayne #1 takes his roles at Isaiah and Jeroboam son of Nebat seriously. Both characters are a stretch for poor Wayne, When you see the show, you'll know what I mean--Wayne always seems to get these kinds of parts--so, how hard could Isaiah be, you might ask? Well, Lamed and Josephine encounter the great prophet during the time that God has instructed him to prophesy in the nude. See Isaiah chapter 20. Of course, we're playing the part with great discretion, but the scene is still way outside poor Wayne's comfort zone. Good thing he loves Drama Drash so much. He's meeting the challenge and taking stage direction very well and doing some personal research to develope his Jeroboam character.

Alphonso, a seasoned and gifted actor has us all cracking up when he's playing Jacob on his death bed, blessing Joseph's sons, Ephriam and Mannaseh, played by Matthew and Taylor, respectively. He also closes the show with his poignant portrayal of Ezekiel, retelling the story of the dry bones. (Ezekiel 37, one of this directors favorite passages in the Bible!)

Matthew is joining this cast--his first time on a Drama Drash stage. He complained that everyone else in his family had been in one of "Miss Shirley's" plays. We hope Matthew will grace our stage for many shows to come.

Danny has taken on the heavy role of Samuel, Judge and Prophet. He also plays another prophet, Ahijah the Shilonite, who prophesies to Jerobaom that he will receive the 10 northern tribes. Danny lends his infectuous charm to both characters and is working behind the scenes to build props.

Justin is fabulous as King Saul. He will be surrounded by five little sheep (Alhonso's youngest boys and Natalies little brother and sisters) We're giving the little ones a chance on stage. They already come to all the shows to cheer on their daddy and big sister, so we're delighted for the opportunity to place them on stage. Ashley stepped up as "Shepherdess" to reign the little ones in. It's a big job but she's doing great! I'm sure they'll do a stupendous job.

Pastor Mike plays Solomon like you've never seen Solomon before. He loves being on stage and even though he only has a small role in this production, he's giving it everything he has. Of course, he's helping off stage with the sound issues and recording a voice over for Lamed Emes. He's alway a huge blessing on the technical end of a show.

Daniel is cast as Rehoboam, and plays him kind of like a royal brat. Daniel is also maturing as an actor and once he feels comfortable with a character, he really takes off with it--keeping us all in stitches. How will Wayne #2 and Natalie keep a straight face on stage for all these actors and their antics?

Another one maturing in her craft is Emily in the role of the wife of Jeroboam. She requires little direction and gives her heart to a genuine portrayal. Emmy was also the first one to learn her lines. Way to go, Em!

I'm very proud of all the actors giving of their time and talents to present this show.

I spoke to Pastor Terry Koehn from St.Paul's Methodist Church and he's ready to do Do This in Memory of Me, a dramatized Passover at his church. We're trying for Thursday night of Holy Week, but keep and eye on our coming attractions for performance dates and times.

Remember that we have shows availabe to bring to your church in the Texoma area. Check out of list of live shows on our contact page.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting Dramadrash.org. Come back and see us soon.

Peace and Blessing

Ezekiel 37:27-28
"My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. 28 "And the nations will know that I am the LORD who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever."' "
