Peace to your homes and families,

Thank you for clicking onto the Drama Drash site and checking out all that we have--lots of royalty free scripts for your local drama ministry, drama helps, and free online support. We invite you to avail yourself to all our services and products.

This artistic director hasn't written notes in awhile because I've been out of commission, so to speak. The day after A Marriage Made in Heaven premiered at First Baptist East in Lawton, OK, I underwent a modified radical mastectomy on my right breast. At the time, the pathology looked good, but now it appears that the cancer was more aggressive than previously thought.

In return, the medical team is countering with equally agressive medical tactics that leaves this artisitic director extremely fatigued at times--and a more than a little flakey--I call it chemo brain. ;-) I also have the support of a medical nutritionist on whom I rely heavily. I have great faith in his suggestions, not only to strenghten my body to fight the cancer but also to support the ongoing medical treatment that can be toxic and hard on the system.

God is offering His unfailing support through His Word. by giving wisdom to my medical team, and through consistant prayers and encouragement of my family, my Drama Drash familiy and other wonderful friends.

Regretfully, we got the diagnosis just before the "Do This in Memory of Me" dramatized Passover production and had to cancel, as I was hospitalized. However, the show must go on, as they say. "Ten Little Lost Tribes" will still be produced. A church has welcomed us to perform there, and the Pastor is also patient to wait on my recovery.

We also have a Bible Investigator. Wayne #2 is boldly stepping in to play Lamed Emes. He works for the US Military and will be deployed during the month of August (with our prayers for protection). We'll begin rehearsals when he returns. We'll let you know more about dates and venues when we have that information, but we plan on an eight-week rehearsal schedule. We will need many men to fill out the various roles of biblical characters that "Lamed" will be interviewing. Please be in prayer about taking part in a Drama Drash production if you are in the Lawon OK area, and contact me by phone or email for more information.

In the meanime, don't be shy about emailing with questions or suggestions for your home drama ministries. Service to God is our most important reason for living, so please bless me by allowing me to serve how I can. I may not get back with you for a day or two but please bear with me, but I will answer ALL my emails.

I covet your prayers for complete healing.

Thank you and may God richly bless!

Shirley Harkins

For I know that this shall turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I shall not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ shall even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose.
Phil 1:19-22 NAS
